"Hold on coach... you are talking about nutrition now?! 2 weeks before the holidays!"

Absolutely! 🎅

My goal here is to tell you how to keep nutrition simple.

Then, maybe you can use this info to help you plan the holiday meals or even get into a habit before the holidays start.

Firstly, the person I'm talking to here doesn't know where to start with making nutrition changes. Someone who wants to lose some "extra" kg's without tracking each calorie or macros. Someone who is training already or not training yet. This will work for you.

NOT an athlete... If you are an athlete you need more detail.

If you think you have your nutrition locked in... AWESOME! But, have a read anyway and see if there are any tips you can implement.

Are you ready for the two simple tips... here you go!

  1. Eat Clean

  2. Eat Light

Yeah, I told you I wanted to keep it simple! 😀

  1. Eat clean:

When I say eat clean, I mean as least processed as to can get. This is so we can get all the vitamins and minerals food has to offer. This will help with recovery, mood, physical & mental performance you name it, it will help!

We can classify processed food into a few categories.

  • Ultra-processed - you have no idea what they are... like a Twix bar. What is that? 🤷‍♂️

  • Processed - You know where it has come from but has been processed... like a potato chip (Crisps 🇬🇧).

  • Lightly processed - Cold cut meats. You know it's meat... but how did it get into that perfect oval shape? It doesn't come like that off the bone. 🤯

  • Clean - Fruit, veg, simple cuts of meat that are just meat. 💪

  • Ultra clean - Straight from the farm or from your garden where you know the soil PH etc... 🤩

(Btw...I know one of our members grows some AMAZING garlic. Ask around😀)

Hold on! Have I just made it complicated? 😅

I can simplify it.

All I want you to do is to try and move all your meals as close to "clean" on this scale as you possibly can.

Next time you sit down for your meal. Look at it. Then Decide what processed level it is. Take note and see what you can improve next time.

Now that's simple.

  1. Eat light:

Now this is the easy one. If you have started eating more clean you will normally start eating more light. You are now eating whole foods that are less calorie-dense and have none of that extra oil, sugars, flour, or other random stuff that they stuff in there.

Remember, if the idea is to lose weight. We need to eat a bit less to allow our bodies to use what is currently stored.

Other simple ways to help you eat light are not to go for second helpings, skip deserts, focus on 3 good meals, and skip heavy snacks.

That said, DO NOT MALNOURISH YOURSELF. We need the vitamins and minerals we spoke about earlier to help with all our body systems.

We need good food.

Boom. simple. Ready for the holidays.
